Declining, with great regret, to write an article on Schubert, "car j'ai pour Schubert une véritable passion, malgré les pages franchement lâchées et rococo qui sont fréquentes dans ses lieder," mentioning some masterpieces that almost no one knows--Grenzen der Mensch[h]eit, Schwestergruss, Waldesnacht [i.e. Im Walde]--, adding that his sight is almost completely gone and that he finds it very difficult to write, etc.
